The Skinceuticals gentle Gel Peels were developed to gradually improve the appearance and texture of the facial skin without irritation and lifestyle disruption, which can be a common occurrence with peels already on the market.

The SkinCeuticals Gel Peels minimizes the appearance of surface lines, smoothes out rough skin texture, aids in clearing acne and helps fade hyper-pigmentation. The treatments can be accompanied by SkinCeuticals skin care products, used at home, pre and post treatment, and are designed to minimize patient down time.

• SkinCeuticals Gel Peel GL contains Glycolic and Lactic Acid, which work synergistically to exfoliate the skin while reducing irritation and dryness. This treatment helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and is ideal for dry, photo-damaged and/or aging skin.
• SkinCeutical Gel Peel SM includes Salicylic and Mandelic Acid to exfoliate the skin while decongesting pores and reducing irritation. This light chemical peel revitalizes sensitive skin and is suited for people with oily, acneic, or sensitive skin, as well as for patients with darker complexions.

Chemical Peels FAQ:

How soon can I apply make-up after my peel?

Straight away. We do advise that you apply a factor 30 sunblock after your treatment to protect your skin. By doing this you prevent further photodamage to your skin.

Is it painful?

All you'll feel is a mild tingling sensation as the peeling agent gets to work on your skin.

How many treatments will I need?

At Bedford Skin Clinic we recommend a course of six to eight peels to achieve the best results. After this, you can have a peel at regular intervals as part of your on-going skincare programme

What does a Chemical Gel Peel involve?

A gel peel treatment is a specific technique for skin renewal. During this process, glycolic and lactic acid or saliscylic and mandelic acid is applied to the skin for a short period of time and then neutralized to end the treatment. This procedure rapidly removes the damaged layer of surface skin cells revealing fresh skin.

Bedford Skin Clinic charge £50 for Chemical gel peels (GL or SM), or £350 for a course of eight peels. Our peels also includes a face mask following the peel suited to your skintype.
