Forehead wrinkles, also known as a "forehead row" are the wrinkles that stretch horizontally across the forehead.
Factors that contribute to formation of forehead wrinkles include ageing, genetics, hormones and environmental factors. Forehead wrinkles are usually the first wrinkles to appear. Initially they appear as dynamic wrinkles (wrinkles caused by contraction of the frontalis muscles during facial expression). If left untreated these can become static wrinkles (lines present even without expression).
At Bedford Skin Clinic we offer Botox as the first line treatment for forehead wrinkles and for the majority of individuals is the only treatment necessary. However, for deep static lines (lines present without facial expression), a combination of Botox and dermal filler can produce the best results. There is a range of other treatments available to address forehead lines. These include Platelet Rich Plasma and for clients who would prefer not to have injectable treatments, we also offer microneeedling (Dermapen, Dermastamp and Dermaroller), chemical peels, microdermabrasion and laser treatments.
