The Orgasm Shot, also commonly referred as O-Shot, involves the use of a component of our blood, Platelet Rich Plasma(PRP) for rejuvenating the vagina that helps with vaginal dryness, stress incontinence and sexual dysfunction.
A range of positive effects from the shots have been reported. These include:
At Bedford Skin Clinic, we use Platelet Rich Plasma(PRP) for O-Shot procedure. The vagina and the surrounding area is numbed by application of a local anaesthetic cream. Then blood is drawn from the arm in the same way as with any blood test. The blood goes through a process of ‘’centrifugation’’ to isolate Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) with the resultant growth factors. Following this, using a very thin needle, the growth factors are injected the clitoris and into the upper vagina into an area most important for the sexual response, the O-Spot.
When platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is injected, the stem cells multiply and a various growth factors are produced regenerating new healthy vaginal tissue. So, using this same technology, the O-Shot procedure works by using PRP to stimulate stem cells to grow healthier vaginal tissue. The procedure works about 80% of the time.
No significant side effects have been reported with this procedure. Potential side effects include temporary vaginal spotting, hypersensitivity or excessive orgasms, yeast infection and urinary tract infection.
